Whatever the medium (oil, wood, etc…) or technique (assembly, paint, etc…) that I use, my artistic offering is based upon and occurs in the here and now , imbuing it with a sense of immediacy. I endeavour to seize some aspect of reality (sometimes based upon a particular motif, sometimes not) in order to explore the possibilities of form through experimentation. Such a creative process draws its essence from an objective pictorial and psychic background. This process also occurs in a ludic and improvised manner, this creating rich visual (optical) event where the figurative and the concrete meet. My goal in using such a process is to study, explore and support the contrasting forces which constitute my work: the struggle between order and chaos, structure and chance, subjective and objective. Is such a poetic artistic approach not an essential aspect of the nature of life?
